Fun Fact: we have 4 different kinds of releases:
- Major Releases:
- The second number changes (PAT 2.10.0)
- You should upgrade immediately because we either found a nasty bug or put in an awesome new feature.
- Minor Releases:
- The third number changes (PAT 2.10.1)
- You should upgrade, but its not urgent. We added something of little importance somewhere in the program.
- Test Releases:
- The fourth number will change (PAT 2.10.2.1)
- We only send these to individual users for testing purposes.
- Earth Shattering Releases:
- The first number will change (PAT 3.0.0)
- Reserved for a change so big we'll probably need a music video with a marching band to properly communicate how big of a deal this change is.

PAT 2.15.0 (December 16, 2020)
- Bug Fix: If you are using interfaces, and if the branches in your interfaces have dated limits, and if your dated-limit-interfaces have contingencies, then these interface's dated limits have been ignored. The first period's limits have been used for monitored elements in your contingency-based-interfaces. Super rare, but important if you have dated limits on contingency interfaces. Created in the 2010 PAT rewrite, this bug almost made it to high school.
PAT 2.26.17 (May 23, 2023)

PAT 2.26.16 (May 23, 2023)
- New Feature: The "basis pair" command can now accept a bus number as a 2nd argument. This allows the sink in the batch MCC congestion report to be a bus number instead of a hub name. New feature added in 20 minutes.
PAT 2.26.15 (May 15, 2023)
- Bug Fix: When a PDTR outages a contingency branch in an event the H-C Tool was computing inaccurate shift factors. An adjustment was made to the topology so compensation vectors are re-computed when appropriate. Bug fixed in 2 days.

- Internal Security Enhancement.
PAT 2.26.0 (January 26, 2023)
- Introducing PFF Compare Tool's Gen Mapper! This is kind of a big deal. Every year MMWG releases a new RAW file for PROMOD input. Now you can map 95% of generators in your old PFF to your new MMWG model, a SERIOUS time saver!
- Introducing PDTR Tool's Event Impact Tab! We discovered that when a PDTR outages a contingency member of a binding event, a subset of the shift factors for that event could be garbage, dispatch may be affected, and a slight, focused inaccuracy introduced to that hour's result. This new tool helps you discover and avoid this situation.
PAT 2.25.28 (January 17, 2023)
- Bug Fix in the Contingency Evaluator: If "Build Contingencies Automatically" was checked, "Include Original Contingencies (EVE)" was ignored. If you had complex events (n-2 and beyond) they may have been improperly ignored. This micro-bug discovered while rooting out an issue that turned out to be a nothing burger. Technical term there. Issue resolved in 3 days.

- New Feature: Now you can report huge groups of bus angles for a set of hours. Fun stuff if you want to display on a map. Feature added in 8 hours.
- Bug Fix in the ISO Report: Hydro capacity now calculated correctly. In PROMOD, hydro units are treated like transactions. Oddly, they are internally loaded as UDATS, normally a thermal unit thing. Capacity was erroneously calculated using TDEF (transaction definitions) instead of UDATs. No longer. Bug fixed in 4 hours.
- Bug Fix in Weighted Congestion Batch Report: Want to batch-determine the top 10 harmer/helpers for a source/sink split? Well if you picked a source that isn't in your PFF, instead of creating an internal loop and running the PAT literally forever, now it reports it in the Batch Log. Bug fixed in 1 hour.
PAT 2.25.22 (November 8, 2022)
- New Feature: When an event file has dated limits, and when there are duplicate events withing the file (at the same date), the PAT no longer crashes. Kind of a new feature. Kind of a bug fix. Got it done in 4 hours.

But we handle them properly now. Also, Event Files generated with the PAT will add the && prefix as needed by PROMOD. You can see these constraints by picking "Commitment Events" in the Event Tool's Front Page's Dropdown. Issue resolved in 25 hours.
- PDTR Outage Creator: Now you can ensure you don't create PDTR outages on any zero-impedance bus ties. Feature added in 13 days.
PAT 2.25.5 (May 17, 2022)
- You know how when you tap into a branch and create PROMOD templates in the Powerflow tool? Know how it automatically sweeps through your events, fixing any disruptions caused by the tapped line? Well now we will also automatically sweep through any PDTR transmission line outages and fix those too! This big new feature was added in 2 hours!
- Small improvement to Read Change RDCH raw output when a unit is out of service in the AC file, but not in the PAT. The unit is now turned on in the AC and uses the PAT's MW dispatch.
- Small improvement to our warning system. Now you can see non-conforming load ("NCL") by bus when the area is swamped by a fixed non-conforming total. This is a bad thing as it creates negative load scales. We now report this bad thing in the pink box (individual bus NCL for debugging in PROMOD).

APC Reporter 1.26.1 (June 24, 2022)
- Additional update to SPP APC method to improve accuracy.
APC Reporter 1.26.0 (June 24, 2022)
- Corrected a Serious Error in SPP APC Calculation Method: A change to the MISO APC calculation method we made in May 2021 was mistakenly also applied to the SPP method. We have fixed the error and are now within 4% of SPP's actual method. We are working to drive that to 0% and are taking several steps to ensure this doesn't happen again. Thank you for your patience. Bug repair is ongoing, but results improved in 7 days.
- Fixed two bugs in the new Selfish Battery Optimization. The first: the appearance of extra discharge hours. The second: the application of losses to each hours discharge that prevents an infeasible State Of Charge after shallow discharges. Bugs repaired in 7 days.
- New Batch Script: Renewable Summary now available in batch mode. Feature added in 10 weeks. Other things popped up and was more difficult that first appeared!
APC Reporter 1.25.0 (June 16, 2022)
- Introducing "Selfish" Battery Optimization!! Now you can commit and dispatch individual batteries in APC Reporter with the objective of maximizing battery revenue instead of minimizing the cost of thousands of generators in a huge network. Optimize your battery in stand-alone pure Arbitrage Mode or paired with a PV Solar unit.
APC Reporter 1.24.1 (June 8, 2022)
- Improvement to the FLO Tab: We now (somewhat poorly) report the number of hours a constraint has spent at it's limit. We use the PFF's PLND Table for the ratings, NOT the EVE File, which has the actual ratings. So consume with salt. New feature added in 8 days.
APC Reporter 1.24.0 (May 20, 2022)
- APC Reporter reads the FLO File! Now you can see statistics and hourly flows on all your interfaces, nomograms, and constraints on the new FLO Tab.
- In the LMP Point-to-point Tab, now (i) you can select None in the Sink dropdown and get stats and gen weighted analysis on a single point, (ii) sorting by date sorts by date, not alphabetically, and (iii) a filter was added so that instead of automatically showing all companies, it shows the ones you've selected on the Data View Tab. These new features added after a few back and forths, but ultimately took 24 days.
APC Reporter 1.23.6 (April 13, 2022)
- Bug Fix: When you want to share a PROMOD run with us, you read a case into APC Reporter and press the Upload Button. We automatically populate a list of PROMOD files, and now that list includes the PFF file. Kind of an important one!
- Bug Fix: Have you ever looked at the details for a single hour? Probably not, but if you did, maybe you realized that it always said "Gathering Details for Hour...". Even long after the details were gathered. Now the label disappears when the details have been gathered, as desired.
- Help File Improvements: Now you can actually search with the Search Tab. Woot!
APC Reporter 1.23.5 (February 15, 2022)
